Hooray for May!  Check out what I've got planned for singing time this month!
See how I use my singing time schedule HERE!  Then download an editable and printable version of the below information HERE or use my May 2019 Singing Time Planner found HERE.

I've chosen to teach Keep the Commandments using my lesson plan HERE.  I'll be updating this post with and a YouTube video demonstrating this lesson plan so stay tuned!!

I've also got a lesson plan for Families Can Be Together Forever HERE.

And a lesson plan for I Am a Child of God HERE.

If you want to see what I've taught this year so far, and what I will be teaching for the rest of the year, check out my post HERE.

So on to what I've got planned for May:

Lesson Song Details:   I want to sing most of the Mother's Day songs in the Children's Songbook with a fun Mother's Day theme!  I'd love more ideas on how to do this!  More to come!

May 19th:
Welcome Song: Hello, Friends p. 254
Opening Song: The Books in the New Testament p. 116
Scripture Song: Families Can Be Together Forever p. 188
Lesson Song: Keep the Commandments p. 146

Lesson Song Details:  Find my lesson plan HERE.  Since it's a fairly familiar song, we'll only be spending one week learning it.

I've recently created a YouTube video demonstrating this lesson plan as well!  Make sure to check it out, then like and subscribe to my channel so you don't miss a thing:

May 26th:
Welcome Song: Hello, Friends p. 254
Opening Song: The Books in the New Testament p. 116
Scripture Song: I Am A Child of God p. 2
Lesson Song: Jesus Once Was a Little Child p. 55, Baptism p. 100, Tell Me the Stories of Jesus p. 57, I Feel My Savior’s Love p. 74, Keep the Commandments p. 146

Lesson Song Details:  Review all our 2019 program songs.  I've been wanting to give these magnetic spinners a whirl (pun TOTALLY intended!) since they were shared on FB HERE.  I just ordered these (they are cheap so I may get what I pay for - we'll see!):

(I get a small commission if you order from this link)

**UPDATE:  Mine just arrived and they are NOT magnetic and they don't spin very well!  Ugh!  How did I do that?  So I'm trying another option and ordered these instead:

(I get a small commission if you order from this link)

They are a little more pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.  The cheap ones may work by hot gluing on a strong magnet but they hardly spin which is pretty lame!

Then have them point to fun ways to sing either from this list HERE or Susan Fitch's HERE (this is what) I'm learning toward.

I've decided to hold off on this activity.  Susan Fitch created this wonderful kit, Jesus and the 12 Apostles that I'm going to use instead.  I've got that activity posted HERE.

Make sure to check out all of my review activities HERE for more ideas!

I bought the more expensive spinners and love them. Of course I had them in the old days of sharing time. But we would just draw whatever we wanted the spinner to look like on the whiteboard and spin away.
