I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus, 2nd Verse

This week I'm pretty much running things the same way I did last week (if you missed that, find it HERE), except I'm changing it up a little bit for the Sr. Primary.  They were a little bored last week as they know this song fairly well (just need to tune up the 2nd verse) and the activity was very simple for them.

So at least for Jr. Primary, here are key word/pictures for the 2nd verse I made.  I tried to make them look somewhat like the first verse but I'm no design artist so be kind ;).

(black and white option if you need it)

(another black and white option)

Download all the images above HERE (you won't want to print all the pages - the black and white are incorporated throughout the document and the keywords mentioned below are also included in this link).  I've printed these and put them in plastic sheet protectors.  Before Primary I'll hang the whole song (1st and 2nd verses and chorus) around the room.  We'll quickly organize the first verse and chorus onto the chalkboard for review and then move on to the second verse, pointing to the next pictures and putting them in order on the chalkboard.

Now, the Senior primary will run a little differently.  I've printed these additional key words and cut them out:

I'll have just the 5 2nd verse PICTURE key words hanging in order (with lots of space in between) on the chalkboard.  Then these key words will be hung along the bottom, out of order.  I'm going to try and get some magnets because magnets will work best for this game.  But tape or plasty-tac could work as well.

I'll have 2 kids come up and as the primary sings the 2nd verse, they will need to put these 9 words in the right order so they fit in with the 5 picture key words.  The goal will be to try to get them all in order before we finish singing.  Then we'll sing the song to check answers.  Then I'll take out the words again, scramble them and get 2 new kids to come try.  Hopefully everyone will get a turn and we'll have sung the song several times.

I introduced this song by telling the children that there was a missionary that I was a big fan of. Not only did I love his music but I was a big fan because he always tries to do what is right. Then I downloaded and played this video of "I'm trying to be like Jesus"

Really quick before Sunday--the second verse doesn't have 'whispers' at the end-it says "the Holy Spirit enters into my thoughts 'saying'" I was just going through it and saw that. Thanks so much for this idea for the second verse. I was having a hard time coming up with anything!

Jenna- Use the "thoughts" visual from verse 1

I ended up just making my own picture for 'enters'. I just wanted to make sure you didn't get up there on Sunday and realize you had the wrong word. I have done that before (plenty of times)and I get so embarrassed! :)

Jenna, thank you so much! I think I know a song and then realize I've totally made a mistake!

Camille do you still have these documents you can post? As far as I can tell on here I just 'save image as'?

Thanks, we are doing this song for April.
