Beautiful Savior

I will be teaching this song using sign language.  We will also be performing it in the program using the sign language we've learned (while we sing).  It's beautiful when it's performed!

I'm no signing expert but I have written up a post HERE with tips and tricks for teaching and using sign language in primary.

You can watch this song using ASL on the church's website HERE (or on YouTube HERE then you won't have to download it).  Just note that my version is VERY simplified!

I have some simple notes HERE for the 1st and 2nd verses (you can access an editable version HERE) that I will take to church with me but they may make no sense to anyone except me!  I'd recommend researching each of these signs using the links I provided in my signing tutorial post to help familiarize yourself with the signs and cater the notes to you.

I also created a flip chart for this song that you can download HERE.  I may be using the flip chart pages as I introduce each of the signs.  As we discuss each sign, I'll post each page on the chalkboard with a magnet.

Find my lesson plan for teaching the 3rd verse HERE.  Also find my handbell chart for the descant HERE.

I'll admit, I have cut A LOT out of what the lady does on the website! I figured if I couldn't do it, neither could the kids.

The 1st and 2nd verse went great last week! It helped that one of our teachers knows ASL. ;) Are you planning to post a cheat sheet for the 3rd verse? I hate to recreate the wheel if you already have one put together. Thanks! I just love your blog and pretty much follow your lessons to a T. Thank you for sharing your talents and ideas. :)

To the above posters, I just want to let you know that if you follow this link it tells you that she thinks the ASL church videos are too complicated as well. She just does signs for key words. As do I. (:
